The Fort Canning Tunnel (FCT) is slated for opening in Jan 07 after three years of construction.
The 350 metres long FCT will provide direct access for cars travelling from Marina Centre and the New Downtown to the Orchard area, allowing them to bypass the traffic light at the junctions of Stamford Road and Bencoolen Street as well as at Handy Road and Orchard Road.
The construction of FCT and consequent realignment of roads in the vicinity is congruent with the overall efforts to ensure the optimisation of land usage, especially in the prime area of the city. FCT was built to allow better utilisation of land and to ensure a more efficient land parcellation for the Singapore Management University’s development.

Heard of Biopolis? Is a centre for biomedical sciences in Asia and the world. Among the R&D labs and biotech companies are few cosy and chic wine and dine restaurants, cafes, pubs, retail stores and a fitness centre.
Yet to check out on the food there… but if you are looking for a new place to explore… go to One North. Most of the restaurants and cafes are open after 11am. Expect to see dozens of environmental friendly features/displays at this development as it has adopted an eco-friendly concept. The best time to visit Biopolis would be before sunsets so that you can witness the lighting of some luminous displays that enhanced the cosy ambiance of Biopolis.

Some of the restuarants are: Raj (fine vegetarian restaurant), Yoshi (japanese noodle and pizza bar), Infuzi, Fabulous etc etc…
