My recent trip to KL…

Had Loads of good and yummy food during my recent trip to KL…

@ StarHill

Jake’s Charbroil Steaks

Jake’s brings diners back to an old cowboy town atmosphere, with dining booths hewn from 24-year-old Scandinavian pine that has matured to a natural earthy brown.

Walking in, one’s attention is immediately attracted by the Wild West decor of brass cooking utensils, saddles and cowboy-style suitcases, along with horseshoes and picture frames of the Wild West adorning the walls.

The atmosphere is distinctly laid back with an unpretentious décor, making it a comfortable spot for relaxed lunch and dinner, entertaining clients or in between meals.

Seating arrangements are bandwagon style with four to each table and privacy is assured by wooden panelling built to ear-level. Jake’s is relatively small compared to many other Western restaurants but that is precisely what makes it such a homely place, oozing with character.

Over so many years you can vouch for the consistency and quality of its delicious offerings.

@ Passage Thru’ India

This was my second time to Passage Thru India, and I am still truly fascinated by this place. On the way to the main eating area, there a small beautifully decorated “huts” which also serves as a eating area. The main eating hall has a small stage set up for Indian classical musicians to play their musicals using traditional indian instrument such as the famed sitar. The restaurant serves up to 100 dishes coming from different parts of India and its interesting to taste the different spices and recipes used in this dishes…

Must try their chilli crab, tandoori chicken, curry fish and mango lasi!

Din know the famous HK comedian, Eric, has a steamboat restaurant in KL. Located at Hartamas Shopping Centre, grd floor… the steatboat at Eric’s restaurant is somewhat different from the usual one I had… you can order any fresh seafood to go with the standard meat and veg that comes along with the steamboat set…

Swee Kee Fish BeeHoon (Ka Soh)

September 1, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Located at 96 Amoy Street… business started as a hawker stall more than 70 years ago before moving into their first shop located along Chin Chew Street. The name “Ka Soh” originated many many years ago by Swee Kee’s regualr customers. “Ka Soh” in cantonese means daughter-in-law and this was the alias used by the mother-in-law when she call for her daughter in-law… who happened to be working at Swee Kee too…

Most of the staff there are friendly and speak fluent cantonese…

Fish slice or fish head bee hoon – cooked in Cantonese-style, the delectable soup – which comes with plenty of thin fish slices – has a natural-looking milky hue… yummy! Its even tastier to add few slices of cut red chillies into the soup!!
